Blake Lively Shares Glimpse Into Holiday Festivities With Family

It’s the most wonderful time of the year—and Blake Lively is proving it.

Blake Lively, known for her role in Gossip Girl, gave fans a glimpse of her holiday celebrations at home with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and their four daughters: James, 11, Inez, 9, Betty, 6, and Olin, 2.

Okay, seriously, Blake just gets me. She posted on Instagram about the perfect night, and it’s basically my life goals. She’s talking family, warm cookies, and milk with ICE – if you know, you KNOW – and a cozy fireplace. Then it gets even better! She’s playing Mahjong with a water bottle covered in sparkles inspired by BRITNEY SPEARS (!!!) while it’s snowing outside and she’s watching the new season of Fixer Upper! It’s just…everything. I feel so seen!

The 38-year-old emphasized, “My heaven.”

Blake recently shared a positive holiday update, which comes almost a year after she began a legal dispute with her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni. Last December, she filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual harassment and retaliation. Justin has denied these claims, and while he initially filed a countersuit, a judge dismissed it. The trial for Blake’s lawsuit against Justin is scheduled to start in May 2026.

I’ve been so worried about Blake with everything going on in court, she’s been trying to stay out of the spotlight, which I totally get. But when that lawsuit Justin filed against her was dismissed in June, she did finally say something! It was such a relief to hear from her, even just a little bit, after all this drama.

Honestly, it just kills me to see anyone going through what I went through with that ridiculous lawsuit. They tried to shame me, to tear me down, and it was awful. I managed to win, thankfully, but it broke my heart knowing so many others don’t have the money or support to fight back when someone tries to bully them with legal threats. It’s just not fair!

She thanked everyone who supported her during her legal issues, and then offered encouragement to other women facing similar challenges, promising to continue supporting and speaking up for them.

Despite the ongoing public drama, Blake shared with Vogue in September 2024—before she filed her lawsuit—that she’s been focusing on a more private and personal life lately, as seen in a recent photo she posted around Christmastime.

She described a scene – being with her friends and goofing off with silly dances – as perfectly capturing who she is, especially when contrasted with having a serious talk with someone else.

Nevertheless, Blake has always looked for a balance between her quiet life and her career.

In a 2021 interview with People, she shared her desire to be fully engaged and available for her children, wanting them to truly feel her support. However, she also believes it’s important to show her kids that a mother can still pursue her own interests and maintain a personal identity outside of motherhood.

You know, as a mom, I’ve watched Frozen countless times with my daughters! And this is a funny one – I was telling Ellen DeGeneres back in 2018 that I’d heard a rumor – if you play the movie Frozen backwards, apparently it mirrors almost exactly the shots from The Exorcist! It’s a total joke, of course, but it always gets a laugh!

Oh my gosh, December 15th, 2016… I’ll never forget it! That was the day Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively finally let us see James and Inez, their precious daughters! It was at Ryan’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony – it’s so cute how even super private celebs often choose that moment to introduce their kids. And his speech? Seriously, I almost cried! He looked at Blake and said she makes everything better, that she gave him the two most amazing children he could ever wish for. He even joked that he thought he was only good for being a fun uncle before she came along and made him the dad of his dreams! It was the sweetest thing ever.

Before their second daughter was born in August 2016, Ryan Reynolds shared with TopMob News how much joy having a baby brought him, saying it was the most grounding and wonderful experience of his life.

Becoming a mom isn’t always glamorous – there’s definitely mess involved! – but it’s incredibly rewarding,” she told NW Magazine in 2016. “Even on the hard days when I’m tired, I feel incredibly lucky.”

When Ryan Reynolds appeared on David Letterman’s show in 2015, he enthusiastically talked about his wife and new daughter. He jokingly explained just how far his love went, saying, ‘I would take a bullet for my wife. But the moment I saw my baby, I realized that if we were ever in danger, I’d even use my wife as a shield to keep her safe!’

Ryan Reynolds, known for his sarcastic wit, shared a funny parenting observation on Twitter back in 2016. He tweeted that being a father is the best feeling ever—but then jokingly added that he also really enjoyed the years before he had kids.

In a 2016 interview on NBC’s Today show, Reynolds explained that he doesn’t mind handling the less pleasant tasks. He said he and his partner are both willing to do what needs to be done, but he personally enjoys taking care of things, even if it means being woken up in the middle of the night.

Fatherhood, he said, has been “amazing.”

In 2016, Reynolds described a rare, touching moment when his daughter really didn’t want him to leave for work—simply because her mother was still sleeping. He said it was incredibly difficult to walk away, and it genuinely hurt him to do so.

Back in 2016, Ryan Reynolds recounted a funny moment during the Super Bowl. His daughter spotted him in a commercial and immediately recognized him, but wasn’t thrilled. Reynolds explained there were multiple versions of him on screen – about twelve – which his daughter dismissed as ‘just a bunch of useless boobs.’ She wasn’t impressed at all, simply saying, ‘Eh, whatever.’

In 2016, Ryan tweeted about how difficult it was to let his baby daughter go off on her own for the first time, jokingly saying he was very emotional dropping her off at Burning Man.

The proud father raved about his daughter in 2015, then shared an update on her development. He said they were hearing lots of baby sounds, but she hadn’t started speaking clear words yet, jokingly adding that he was often teasing her.

In a 2015 Instagram post, Blake Lively playfully hinted at Ryan Reynolds being the father of their child, writing, “Since the day our baby was born, I’ve had a strong feeling you were the dad.” She ended the post with a sweet, “I love you so much it’s silly.”

Blake Lively described parenthood as a series of constant surprises. She explained that you never know what to expect – a messy diaper, a joyful smile, or a sudden outburst of tears. She jokingly compared it to living with someone unpredictable, but emphasized how quickly children grow up, making the experience incredibly rewarding. She said she’d happily be an elderly mother just to have more time with her child.

Blake Lively shared in 2015 that family is what truly matters. Despite having unusual careers, she emphasized that everyone belongs to a family, and that connection is a wonderful thing.

In a 2015 tweet, Ryan Reynolds shared a touching Father’s Day memory: his daughter’s smile. He said it meant more to him than any present, especially because he was about to leave home for six years to write a book about being a parent.

He once revealed to TopMob News, while promoting his 2015 film Woman in Gold, that he’d occasionally wake up and realize he’d been walking for five minutes without even realizing it.

It’s funny, isn’t it? You adore them. You’ll wake up several times during the night with a goofy grin, and I was just telling someone about that. If anything else disturbed your sleep that often, you’d be furious. But when it’s your baby, it’s the most wonderful thing in the world.

It’s pretty common for people to meet, have a few drinks, and then start a family. But in my case, it was different – I was completely sober when it happened,” Reynolds quipped in 2016.

Okay, seriously, it blows my mind! It’s something everyone does, but it’s also…huge, you know? And it always cracks me up when celebrities talk about their kids. They act like their baby is the first one ever born! It’s so embarrassing, you just want to hide for them, but honestly, it’s hilarious!

Reynolds admitted to being completely smitten with his young daughter, James, back in 2015. He joked about how many parents feel the same way, and then confessed his adoration for her was a bit over the top. ‘I truly worship that kid,’ he said. ‘She has me wrapped around her little finger. When she says ‘Dada,’ I’d do anything for her.’
