When is the Blood Message release date?
At the time of writing, there is no confirmed release date for Blood Message.
In fact, not only is there no release date, but there’s no release window at all – we don’t even have a year!
The game was first announced in June 2025, showing off in-game gameplay and cut scenes, suggesting that it was already a fair way into development.
As such, we would expect to see the game release in 2027, with a confirmed release date coming later in 2026, perhaps as part of Gamescom’s Opening Night Live or at The Game Awards.

Blood Message story and gameplay details
Blood Message is set against the backdrop of the Shazhou uprising, a historical event in modern-day Gansu Province, China. During this uprising, Zhang Yichao, a military leader and politician, took control of the cities of Shazhou and Guazhou, ending Tibetan governance in the region.
The story focuses on Pei Changguan and his son Ning, who embark upon a journey across China to the capital of the Tang Empire, Chang’an, to deliver an important message.
The developers call this game “a tribute to everyday people.” Unlike many Chinese games that feature powerful heroes, this one will center on the lives and struggles of ordinary citizens as they navigate significant historical events.
The game will feature fast-paced, third person combat, drawing comparisons with games as varied as Sekiro, Wo Long and even God of War.
As a fan, I’m really excited to hear that this game will have a lot of the same sneaky, stay-alive gameplay as Sekiro and Wo Long! It sounds like you’ll need to be smart about how you approach fights and really focus on survival, which I love.
