Resident Evil Veronica PS5 Remake in Demand with One Million Wishlists

Okay, so Resident Evil: Code Veronica always felt like a proper, full-fledged Resident Evil game to me, even though it didn’t have a number in the title like most of the others. And now, with the remake of Resident Evil Veronica on the way, I’m really expecting another big win for Capcom – they’ve been on a roll!

Despite losing ‘Code’ from its name, Resident Evil Veronica has already been wishlisted over a million times since it was announced last week.

This is only across PS5 and PC; the remake is not even available to wishlist on Nintendo Switch 2 or Xbox Series X|S yet, so the number of wishlists will only increase once it’s possible on those platforms.

“Deranged terror awaits the 1 million of you who have wishlisted Resident Evil Veronica,” said Capcom on social media. “Thank you!”

Resident Evil Veronica is coming to PS5 in 2027 as a complete remake of the original PlayStation 2 game. While it will still be played from a third-person perspective, the new version will feature updated gameplay, a revised story, and significantly improved graphics.

The game begins three months after the events in Raccoon City, with Claire Redfield looking for her brother Chris in Paris. But she’s captured by Umbrella and taken to Rockfort Island, the main setting of the original game. Now, Claire must fight to escape the island, which has become a terrifying survival horror landscape due to a new biological disaster.

If I think back to the games I loved as a kid, Resident Evil 3 is up there, but Code: Veronica X really sticks out in my memory. My parents wouldn’t let me play it at home, so I’d sneak over to my neighbor’s place. He had the coolest horror-themed bedroom, filled with Jason Voorhees figures, and that’s where I first experienced the game. It was awesome!

I can’t wait to play this PS5 reimagining in 2027.
