Bob’s Burgers Finally Reveals Its Most Important Origin Story

Bob’s Burgers is back on Fox for Season 16, and the show kicked things off by finally sharing the story of how the restaurant got its start. The premiere episode delved into the beginnings of the Belcher’s business, showing how Bob and Linda took a big risk to pursue their dream. Bob’s Burgers had plenty to be excited about heading into the new season, as it was recently renewed for four more seasons with Fox, and this premiere also marked the show’s 300th episode! The creators decided to make the occasion special by revealing the restaurant’s origin story and how Bob and Linda bet on their future.

Bob’s Burgers is known for being genuinely moving. While every episode is reliably funny, many also have surprisingly heartfelt moments. After 300 episodes, it really shows how much viewers care about the characters, and the Season 16 premiere offers a glimpse into the very beginning of their story. It also highlights the positive influence Bob and Linda have had simply by opening their restaurant.

Bob’s Burgers Episode 300 Reveals the Origin of Bob’s Burgers at Last

Bob’s Burgers has occasionally offered glimpses into Bob and Linda’s history, including when they first discovered the restaurant location. However, Episode 300, “Grand Pre-Pre-Pre-Opening,” provides the most detailed look at their past yet. We learn that Linda was employed at an insurance office, but felt discouraged by the lack of joy among her coworkers. Bob was working as a line cook, and both were eager for a change. It was then that Linda stumbled upon the space that would eventually become their restaurant.

Linda convinces Bob to finally pursue their shared dream of opening a restaurant by offering to use her savings, which she’d been setting aside for a condo. Through this venture, they make lasting friendships with people like Teddy, the handyman (who is navigating a divorce), and Mort the mortician (who is experimenting with a hairpiece for the first time). However, the opening day is a disaster: Bob is overcome with nausea and vomits from anxiety, and Linda unexpectedly goes into labor with Tina, all on the very same day.

Bob’s Burgers Episode 300 Special Only Makes You Love It More

The arrival of Tina allows Bob to find inner peace, as he understands everything will be alright. Driven by the need to be strong for his daughter, Bob and Linda continue running the restaurant, bringing it to where it stands today. It’s a touching glimpse into their history, highlighting how well-suited they are for each other. Linda helps Bob find stability, and in turn, Bob empowers Linda to pursue a new dream: creating a place where people can find happiness.

The two burgers unexpectedly affect Speedo Guy, who we learn is actually a lawyer who dislikes his career. After trying one of Bob’s burgers, his life transforms, ultimately turning him into the carefree man we see today. However, this highlights that despite Bob’s daily anxiety about running the restaurant, his food genuinely brings joy to people. All the hard work has been worthwhile over the years, and the world would be a significantly less happy place without his little restaurant.
