I was so excited to hear that a Borderlands game was being given away for free! Amazon was giving away New Tales From the Borderlands to Prime members, which was awesome. Sadly, that deal ended on February 4th, and I missed it – bummer! But the really cool part is, Amazon didn’t just stop there. They quickly swapped it out with another Borderlands game, so there’s still a chance to snag one for free!
You can now play Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands for free on Amazon Luna, formerly known as Prime Gaming. This 2022 spin-off of the Borderlands series keeps the popular loot and shooting gameplay, but sets it in a fantasy tabletop role-playing game world. To access it, you’ll need an active Amazon Prime subscription. With tens of millions of Prime members worldwide, many people can enjoy the game at no extra cost.
Players who complete the claim process for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will receive a PC code for the game, usable on the Epic Games Store. Once activated, the game will be permanently added to their digital library and available to play whenever they want. This Amazon Luna promotion will run for three months, ending on May 6, 2026.
Is This Borderlands Game Worth Playing?

Even though it doesn’t have the same level of popularity as games like Borderlands 2, Tales From the Borderlands, or the newer Borderlands 4, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is definitely a game worth checking out. It boasts fantastic shooting mechanics and unique character abilities you won’t find anywhere else in the series, earning it a solid 78/100 score on Metacritic. Players also seemed to enjoy it, with sales exceeding publisher Take-Two Interactive’s expectations.
One of the biggest drawbacks of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is Tiny Tina herself – she’s a very loud and dominant character, and that’s coming from a series known for its larger-than-life personalities. This, along with some uneven writing, can make the game feel tiring at times. However, if you’re a fan of previous Borderlands games and enjoy their style of gameplay, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is worth trying, especially since it’s currently available for free.
