When Boruto was first announced as a follow-up to Naruto, with Naruto’s son taking the lead, many fans were skeptical. Some only watched to see familiar parts of the original series. But as Boruto developed, it started to stand on its own, creating its own unique qualities. Boruto proved to be a compelling hero, different from his father, and the series really shined with its use of advanced technology. This technology subtly showed that the story was set in a future where things had changed and progressed.
Fans of the original Naruto series weren’t used to seeing advanced technology play a big role, but Boruto has really embraced it, creating its own unique feel. The series has woven scientific progress into almost everything, setting its characters apart from those in the original Naruto. The current arc, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, is leaning even further into this, and it looks like technology might be the answer to a new challenge involving Sarada Uchiha. A preview for Chapter 34 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex revealed that Sarada is losing her eyesight, and since she was just starting to become a central figure, fans expected her to return. While there are many possibilities, it seems like scientific advancements will likely be what brings her back.
Boruto Might Use Scientific Advancement to Solve Its Latest Major Uchiha Hurdle

The Naruto series previously showed that using the Mangekyo Sharingan slowly damages an Uchiha’s vision, and Sarada Uchiha is experiencing this too, very quickly after unlocking her own. Since Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is still in its early stages, it seems premature for its main Uchiha character to become weakened. This hints that Boruto is setting up Sarada for a future recovery, and the series’ focus on technology could be the perfect way to make that happen.
Amado is likely the most brilliant scientist we’ve seen in the series, and he’s now working with Konoha village. He has the ability to improve Sarada’s vision, similar to how he altered Kawaki and created powerful beings like Delta, Eida, Code, and Daemon. This would fit well with Sumire’s work on the Scientific Ninja Weapons team, allowing her to use her skills to help Sarada regain her eyesight.
The series could also have Boruto use his ability to see the future to help Sumire find a cure for the Mangekyo Sharingan, much like he recently asked her to build a unique sword. Sarada’s problem will probably be solved quickly, as the current story arc hasn’t given her, a key Uchiha character, a major opportunity to stand out. By using scientific advancements – maybe even incorporating technology directly into her eyes – Sarada could achieve a level of power that would surprise even longtime fans of the Naruto series, pushing the Uchiha clan beyond what anyone expected.
