I really enjoy the Ocean’s films because they’re fun and easy to watch, and you can tell the incredibly talented cast was having a great time making them. This was true of the original Ocean’s 11 with the Rat Pack back in 1960, but it’s especially noticeable in the three more recent films. Brad Pitt mentioned that when the cast of Ocean’s Twelve – including himself and Catherine Zeta-Jones – arrived on set, they playfully teased Zeta-Jones. Zeta-Jones Came In Ready To Work…
Catherine Zeta-Jones approached the set as a dedicated professional, eager to discuss her scenes and the details of her role. However, for Brad Pitt and the rest of the star-studded cast – including George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, and Don Cheadle – filming felt more like a pleasant trip to Europe. Pitt later shared in an interview with the Daily Echo, shortly after the movie’s release, that this was the case for almost everyone involved.
It wasn’t really work, more like we were on autopilot. The funniest part was Catherine – she genuinely believed we were filming a movie.
Of course, Zeta-Jones eventually fit right in, as Pitt also mentions in the interview:
Catherine is stunning and graceful, but don’t let that fool you – she can outdrink anyone.
I’ve always imagined the making of the Ocean’s films being a really fun experience, and it definitely seems that way. It makes me wish we could revisit that world! There’s even a chance we might, since George Clooney recently hinted that Ocean’s Fourteen could happen, possibly even starting production next year.

Ocean’s Twelve Isn’t My Favorite Of The Movies, But It’s Still Great
Steven Soderbergh is a fantastic director, but if I’m being honest, I don’t think Ocean’s Twelve is one of his greatest films. Out of the Ocean’s movies – excluding Ocean’s 8, which I do enjoy – it’s probably my least favorite. However, the behind-the-scenes antics in that film are arguably the most entertaining of the whole trilogy.
Even with some fans being really harsh, I still adore revisiting all the films, even Twelve. Honestly, I think part of what draws me in is that they filmed in locations far more interesting than just Vegas, though I do enjoy a good Vegas movie! Filming in Italy truly made the experience special, and it’s what really sets that movie apart for me and keeps me coming back to it, even if it doesn’t quite reach the same level as some of the others.
