Margot Robbie has been developing a prequel to Ocean’s Eleven for some time, and now the project appears to be gaining momentum. Bradley Cooper is reportedly in talks to both write and direct the film, with Robbie still set to star. While no contracts have been finalized, Warner Bros. is aiming to begin filming before the year ends. Previously, Lee Isaac Chung (director of Twisters) was attached to direct, but he left the project due to disagreements about the creative direction.
The upcoming prequel is set in the 1960s and will tell the story of Danny Ocean’s parents. Margot Robbie and a co-star, previously believed to be Ryan Gosling, will play these parents. This setting isn’t just about their story, though – it’s also a tribute to the original Ocean’s Eleven movie from 1960, which featured Frank Sinatra and his famous “Rat Pack” friends like Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.
