Here is an overview of the game, via Square Enix:
The original Bravely Default, the fantastic first game in the Bravely series, is back with a beautiful high-definition remaster.
Experience the classic story of the Warriors of Light as they journey to restore the crystals. Enjoy engaging, turn-based battles with the innovative Brave and Default systems, and choose from more than 20 different character classes. This version also includes updated features and brand-new minigames!
The story of light and shadow that never fades is reborn.
Story
Make for the distant land of Luxendarc as a warrior of light.
The world was suddenly torn apart by the Great Chasm, which destroyed Tiz’s village, leaving him as the only person who survived. Lost and heartbroken, he meets Agnès, a young priestess. Together, they embark on a quest to close the chasm and rescue the crystals consumed by the darkness within it.
They set off, entirely unaware of the significance of that goal.
Battle
Take your time planning your strategies in turn-based battles.
As a fan, I’m really loving how much strategy is packed into the battles! You have tons of options – deciding what attacks to use, how aggressively to play, and even how many things you can do each turn. There are these two new commands, ‘Brave’ and ‘Default’, that add a whole new layer of fun. ‘Brave’ lets you spend BP to take more actions, while ‘Default’ helps you build up BP and protect yourself. You can either go all-out on the attack and overwhelm your enemies, or focus on healing and bringing your team back from the brink. It’s so satisfying to figure out the best approach!
Enhancements
Enjoy your adventure with upgraded features.
This updated version of the game includes sharper graphics, a more user-friendly interface, and the option to skip cutscenes. It also boasts improved online features and two brand-new minigames.
*Certain graphics from the original version have been altered for this version.
