It really was about Braxton Berrios‘ football schedule.
Following his split from Alix Earle, the wide receiver for the Houston Texans is explaining why he didn’t attend any of her performances on season 34 of Dancing With the Stars.
When he returned to Instagram on December 11th with a playful post asking, “What did I miss?”, fans quickly filled the comments section. One fan jokingly replied, “every single performance of alixs,” and he responded directly to them.
“I would’ve been at every one if I could’ve,” he said, “sadly I can’t travel like that in-season.”
Braxton told a fan he wished he could have been there for Alix. When someone mentioned missing a trip to Los Angeles to see his girlfriend, who was filming Dancing With the Stars, during the Texans’ off week, Braxton confirmed that’s exactly how he spent his time off.
The 30-year-old also explained in the comments that he didn’t intend for his previous post to seem critical or negative towards Alix.
Braxton’s reason for missing all of Dancing With the Stars this season matches what Alix shared before: he was unable to participate due to football commitments, as he explained to a fan on TikTok last month.
Although he wasn’t able to be there in person to support the social media star during the ballroom competition, the NFL player did appear on the season finale, offering her a message of encouragement in a pre-recorded video.
Braxton said in the video, ‘I’ve seen how much effort you’ve put into this from the beginning, and it really shows. I wish you the best of luck, and have fun!’
I was really saddened to hear about Alix and Braxton’s breakup, but I’ve been following the story closely. It’s interesting to see how Alix is handling things – she’s been openly talking about how she’s been doing some self-reflection and really thinking about her own actions after the split. It seems like she’s trying to learn from everything that happened.
In a TikTok video posted on December 10th, she jokingly wondered if her frontal lobe was still developing. She explained that as she approaches her 25th birthday, she’s realized she’d rather focus on things like exercising, meditating, playing games, and having meaningful conversations with loved ones, instead of throwing a big party – a change from her usual priorities.
The 24-year-old added, “Either I’m maturing or just rlly going thru it…maybe both.”
