Paralympic legend Dame Sarah Storey is rumored to be joining the next series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2026, with an official confirmation expected shortly.
This week, the BBC revealed that EastEnders star Lacey Turner, reality TV’s Dani Dyer, and singer Delta Goodrem will be participating, and they plan to announce even more celebrity contestants throughout the summer.
Last year, Storey was a contestant on Dancing on Ice, but had to leave the competition after getting injured in practice. ITV has since decided to put the show on hold.
According to a source, Sarah is thrilled to be joining Strictly and is looking forward to learning to dance.
She’s a strong competitor and determined to do her best in the contest, while also hoping to connect with the audience and show them who she really is. She’s excited about the fun and glamorous side of the show, and can’t wait to enjoy getting dressed up for it.
I’m so excited for the next season of Strictly Come Dancing! While the BBC hasn’t officially said anything about Layton Williams joining the show yet, they have hinted that we’ll be getting more announcements throughout the summer. They’ve promised we’ll find out everything before the new series kicks off on BBC One and iPlayer this September, and I can’t wait to hear who’s signed up!

Dame Sarah Storey is the most decorated British Paralympian ever, having won an incredible 30 medals, including 19 golds. She first competed at the Paralympics as a swimmer in Barcelona in 1992 when she was only 14 years old, and later became incredibly successful as a cyclist, excelling in both road and track events.
Delta Goodrem has just been added to the event’s performers, following her successful appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
Natalie Imbruglia expressed her excitement about joining the show, saying she’s performed on many stages throughout her career – including television, theatre, and on tour – but has never danced on a ballroom floor before.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Strictly and can’t wait to get started!”
Strictly Come Dancing is getting a fresh look! Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe will be the new hosts of the show, taking over from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Plus, the show will feature a mix of new and returning professional dancers! Fan favourites like Dianne Buswell, Amy Dowden, Katya Jones, and many others – including Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Aljaž Škorjanec, Jowita Przystał, Johannes Radebe, Nancy Xu, Kai Widdrington, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Vito Coppola, Alexis Warr, and Julian Caillon – will all be taking to the dance floor.
