Caitlyn Jenner has taken legal action against the estate of Sophia Hutchins.
Nearly nine months after her friend and manager died in an ATV accident at age 29 on July 2nd, Jenner received approval from his estate on March 27th to cover $439,095.88 in expenses she had submitted. This means the estate has agreed to pay her the money, according to documents from TopMob News.
According to court documents obtained by TopMob, 76-year-old Jenner claims Hutchins owes her a significant sum of money due to accumulated credit card debt, cash advances, and legal expenses.
The legal filing detailed how $439,095.88 was spent, claiming Hutchins used Jenner’s credit and debit cards for over $250,000 in furniture purchases, as well as payments made on eBay and Shopify. It also stated that Hutchins received more than $7,000 in cash advances from Jenner. Additionally, the document showed that the two shared legal costs, and Jenner requested over $130,000 in reimbursements.
According to court documents, Jenner stated that Hutchins promised to reimburse her before she passed away, and had already covered $75,000 of her legal costs.
TopMob News has reached out to reps for Jenner as well as Hutchins estate but has not heard back.
Following Hutchins’ death, Jenner shared how she’d been coping without her longtime confidant.
During an interview on FOX News @ Night in August, she shared that her close friend, Sophia, had recently died in a tragic accident. She explained that she’d been struggling with the loss for the past seven weeks, calling it a very difficult time.

Hutchins and Jenner became friends more than ten years ago, originally meeting through Hutchins’ makeup artist. Jenner eventually started managing Hutchins’ career.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Hutchins tragically died on July 2nd in Malibu. She was driving an ATV that collided with the back of a Mazda, causing her to fall from a 350-foot cliff, as reported by the Daily Mail.
According to Sergeant Eduardo Saucedo of the Malibu/Lost Hills station, it doesn’t appear the driver intentionally followed the victims. He believes she simply came across them and then collided with their vehicle.
He explained that she appeared to have tried steering around the obstacle, but she was driving too quickly. This caused her to hit the back of the Mazda, which made her lose control and drive off the cliff.
