If you’re looking for a more classic Christmas experience and want to reconnect with the spirit of the season, Carols from King’s will be back again this year.
The world-renowned choir returns this year with their beloved Christmas tradition: a candlelit service of music, scripture, and prayer, broadcast live from the stunning King’s College Chapel in Cambridge.
I recently had the chance to preview a beautiful Christmas carol service, and I’m happy to report it’s going to be broadcast on BBC Two twice over the holidays! What really struck me was how effectively it blended the experience of being there in person with the warmth of watching from home. It’s a truly lovely performance of all your favorite, classic Christmas carols – the kind that just feels…right for the season.

When is Carols from King’s 2025 on TV?

The beloved Christmas service, Carols from King’s, will be broadcast on BBC Two on Tuesday, December 24th at 5:45 PM. You’ll also be able to watch it on BBC iPlayer soon after it airs.
The festive special will broadcast once again on Christmas Day at 8:45am.
It will have a duration of 1 hour and 14 minutes.
Who is performing at Carols from King’s 2025?
The concert, led by Dean Stephen Cherry, will open with the traditional solo performance of the first verse of “Once in Royal David’s City” by a young chorister.
Music will include Philip Ledger’s setting of On Christmas Night, Anton Bruckner’s Ave Maria and The Lamb by John Tavener whilst the choir will sing Christmas carols including Unto Us Is Born a Son, O Come All Ye Faithful and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.
Next, choir members from King’s College will share the traditional Christmas story from the Bible, using the language of the King James Version, alongside Christmas poems by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, UA Fanthorpe, and Howard Thurman.
