Carrie Underwood‘s bleach blonde hair is carved into our minds.
However, the country singer has returned to her roots—literally.
I’ve been so excited to see Carrie embracing her natural hair lately! She revealed her darkest color yet in a selfie on December 12th – it’s a gorgeous warm brunette with highlights. It’s a total departure from the bleached blonde she had before, and I’m loving the change!
The shade really flatters the singer’s dark eyebrows and eyes, giving her a completely fresh appearance.
Some fans didn’t even recognize her, with one commenting, “She doesn’t look like Carrie at all!” and another asking, “Is that really her? It doesn’t seem like Carrie.”
Despite the change from her iconic look on American Idol, fans still showed their support and appreciation for the Grammy-winning artist’s new style.
“Natural beauty is where it’s at,” another user wrote. “So pretty always.”
In August, Carrie started transitioning back to her natural hair color. She posted a selfie after a salon visit, showing her blonde but unbleached hair, and mentioned it had been around twelve years since she’d last seen her natural color.
Oh my gosh, when I saw Miranda Lambert actually said she loved it, I nearly fainted! And then Cameron Bure chimed in with ‘So pretty!!!!’ – it was just…everything! I screenshotted it immediately, of course. It made my entire week, honestly. They get it, you know?
Carrie suggested revisiting the idea, and she seems to have been committed to it ever since.
However, hair color hasn’t been the only change for the 42-year-old this year.
It’s so amazing to see Carrie back on the show where she first became a star! As a huge fan, I was thrilled when she returned, but this time as a judge! She’s really found her footing and is incredibly sharp now that she’s evaluating the competition. It’s wonderful to watch! She and Mike Fisher are also proud parents to Isaiah, who’s 10, and Jacob, who’s 6.
She told SiriusXM’s The Highway in September that their main goal is to help everyone improve and become the best they can be.
