Cartoon Network continues to produce new shows, but they also enjoy revisiting popular classics. Later this month, fans can look forward to the return of Mordecai, Rigby, and the crew from Regular Show in a new series called Regular Show: The Lost Tapes. But that’s not the only big comeback from CN this year! Ben 10 recently returned with a new comic book series that reintroduces Ben Tennyson, though some characters have been redesigned from their original Cartoon Network appearances.
The first issue of Ben 10 from Dynamite Comics marks the return of the series’ original creators, who are launching a new universe for the beloved character. While Ben Tennyson and his cousin Gwen look much like they did in the original Cartoon Network show, Grandpa Max has a new appearance. As the three embark on a camping trip, readers discover that Max now sports a beard and is noticeably slimmer than in previous versions of the franchise. You can see a full look at the redesigned Grandpa Max below.

Absolute Ben 10

Joe Casey, co-creator of the original Ben 10 series, recently spoke about the upcoming comic book relaunch. He described it as the definitive version of the character, emphasizing how important this project is to him and the other original creators. Casey promised fans – both longtime viewers and newcomers – that the comic will deliver everything they’ve ever wanted, drawing on every previous version of Ben 10 and holding nothing back. He confidently stated that this comic is the most complete and ultimate Ben 10 experience possible.
Although this new version of Ben 10 features beloved characters from Cartoon Network, a TV show hasn’t been officially announced yet. Duncan Rouleau, one of the original series’ creators, has expressed his desire to bring Ben Tennyson and friends back to the network, promising fans they’ll try their best. He mentioned a possible return after some recent changes at Cartoon Network, but currently, there are no updates. This was said before Warner Bros. was acquired by Paramount/Skydance, which leaves the future of Cartoon Network uncertain. Even if Ben 10 doesn’t return as an animated series, Man of Action is still dedicated to keeping the Tennyson family involved in entertainment.
