Adult Swim is well-known for bringing unique comedies and anime to North American audiences, but they’ve also been surprising viewers with fresh takes on classic characters. A prime example is their recent series, My Adventures With Superman, which has been renewed for a third season, though a release date is still unknown. Fans won’t have to wait long for more superhero action, however, as another flying hero is coming to the platform, and a familiar voice from classic Cartoon Network shows will be joining the cast.
Greg Eagles is a veteran voice actor with a career spanning many years. He’s best known for voicing the Grim Reaper in the popular Cartoon Network show, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Even though that series hasn’t been rebooted recently, Greg is still actively working. He recently announced on social media that he’s recording a character for the new series, My Adventures With Green Lantern. This spin-off will explore the world of DC’s Green Lanterns, but Greg hasn’t revealed which character he’ll be playing.
Adult Swim’s Brightest Day

I’m so excited about the potential for a Green Lantern appearance in the My Adventures With Superman spin-off! While we don’t know who Don Eagle will play yet, there are so many awesome characters he could bring to life – imagine him as the intimidating Sinestro, or the powerful Kilowog! He’s no stranger to DC animation either, having worked on The Dark Knight Returns previously. Honestly, I’m buzzing trying to guess which Lantern we’ll see – will it be Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, or Kyle Rayner? They haven’t shown up in the main series yet! We did get a quick glimpse of a Green Lantern during Season 2 when Braniac threw an alien cop at Superman, but I’m guessing this new series will focus on a more established character. The possibilities are endless!
Fans have been anticipating the third season of My Adventures With Superman for a while, and a recent Comic Con revealed appearances by characters like Superboy, the Cyborg Superman, and General Zod. After defeating Brainiac in season two, Clark has been strengthening his bond with his cousin Kara, also known as Supergirl, who is now free from the villain’s control. Despite having Supergirl as an ally, Metropolis is facing so many new and returning threats that even the Man of Tomorrow might be overwhelmed. There’s speculation that a Green Lantern could appear in the upcoming season, potentially connecting to the planned Adult Swim spin-off.
I’m really curious to hear what everyone thinks about Grim becoming a part of the DC Universe! I’d love to know your thoughts – feel free to share them in the comments, and join the discussion over at the ComicBook Forum!
