Evil Empire and Motion Twin are teaming up with Konami to create a new 2D action-adventure game called Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. This game is being made to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the popular Castlevania series.
The game stars Trevor Belmont, a member of the famous vampire-hunting family, and follows his journey through Paris in 1499. He’s trying to uncover the source of a monster invasion – something his family knows a lot about. The game looks fantastic, with a great art style, and the trailer shows fast-paced, fluid combat and smooth action.
Richter Belmont doesn’t just rely on his Vampire Killer whip. The trailer showed him skillfully using a sword to fight enemies, and even featured a recognizable zombie. While details about the story and other weapons are still unknown, players can anticipate a mysterious world with plenty of combat and secrets to discover as Belmont travels through fiery streets and classic gothic architecture, staying true to the series’ style.
A new version of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is coming to PlayStation 5 later this year. You can watch the trailer below.
