Here’s a preview of the 2025 movies aimed at dedicated fans – from horror hits to large-scale fantasy adventures – that could be nominated for Oscars.

The series As You Stood By follows the story of Eun-su and Hui-su, played by Jeon So-nee and Lee Yoo-mi, who are close friends both dealing with difficult pasts. When Hui-su finds herself in a deeply harmful marriage, the two women devise a complex plan to murder her abuser and finally give her a chance at freedom. However, their carefully laid plans are jeopardized when an unforeseen guest arrives, putting everything at risk.

It’s a fantastic time to be a manga reader, with so many amazing new series coming out. Several recent titles are truly special, quickly becoming defining works for a new generation and showing all the signs of becoming modern classics.

The mobile game Hotel Hideaway, originally released in 2018, is now available on Steam as Hotel Hideaway: Avatar & Chat. While it remains unavailable on consoles, the Steam version has received a “Mixed” rating, with only 67% of players giving it a positive review. Interestingly, most negative feedback isn’t about the gameplay itself, but the requirement to connect a Facebook account. This is a significant issue for many players, but it’s separate from the actual quality of the game.

Crunchyroll played a key role in launching Dr. Stone, and the anime is nearing its conclusion. After eight years, Dr. Stone: Science Future has released a trailer for its final episodes, giving fans a preview of the series’ exciting finale. You can watch the trailer below.

When asked about a possible remake of the original Red Dead Redemption, the insider clarified that working on RDR2 doesn’t mean a remake of RDR1 won’t happen.

Jon Bernthal is returning as the Punisher after first appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Daredevil: Born Again. He’ll have a special on Disney+ and will finally play the character in a movie, titled Brand New Day. While some fans believe Daredevil would be a better fit for a street-level hero role – especially since he helped Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home – Marvel should hold off on a Daredevil/Spider-Man team-up until the next Spider-Man film. A compelling villain is emerging who would be perfect for that story.

The Red Dead Redemption games are famous for their incredible stories, proving that open-world games can be about much more than just action. While many fans are hoping for a Red Dead Redemption 3, it might need to focus on a new set of characters, as the current story feels complete.
