34 Years Ago, One DC Comics Legend Was Literally a Suicide Squad Member (And Even Died)

Let’s back up for a moment. If you’re familiar with the comic Animal Man (be warned, spoilers ahead!), you know that writer Grant Morrison – famous for their incredible work on the series in the late 1980s – actually appears in the final issues. They share a meaningful conversation with Buddy Baker before giving him a satisfying conclusion. However, that wasn’t the last time Morrison showed up in the DC Universe. Lorenz questioned Disney’s actions, suggesting that because her film was a non-profit fan tribute, they felt entitled to use her work. She also implied that Disney should either better compensate their animators or hire dedicated action designers. A comparison of the two action sequences is available for viewers to assess the similarities and determine if her fan film served as the basis for the Visions short.
