Three highly-rated Nintendo Switch games (all with a Metacritic score of 90 or higher) are currently on sale for under $5 on the Nintendo eShop. These deals won’t last forever, though – they expire between February 28th and March 6th, so Switch, Switch Lite, and OLED Switch owners should act fast to grab them at these low prices.
These three Nintendo Switch games aren’t specifically made for the new Nintendo Switch 2, but you can still play them on the new console because it’s compatible with older games. Plus, these games don’t demand a lot of graphical power, so even if there were versions made for the Switch 2, you probably wouldn’t notice a huge difference compared to the original Switch versions.
Into The Breach – $4.49
Subset Games, the creators of the acclaimed FTL: Faster Than Light, followed up their 2012 hit with Into the Breach in 2019. This turn-based strategy game was a critical success, earning a score of 90 on Metacritic, and remains their most recent release.
You control massive robots called mechs and fight off huge alien monsters to protect the last of humanity.
What Remains of Edith Finch – $4.99
Released in 2017, What Remains of Edith Finch is an exploration game created by Giant Sparrow and published by Annapurna Interactive. It’s also the only other game the studio has released since its first, and remains their most recent work. With a score of 92 on Metacritic, it would be a remarkable final project if it turns out to be their last.
I’m really drawn into this game because you play as Edith, and she goes back to her incredibly huge family home, the Finch house. It’s all about her trying to piece together what happened to everyone else – she’s the last one left, and she’s searching for clues and memories to figure out why. It’s a really compelling mystery!
Celeste – $4.99
Celeste, a platformer game created by Maddy Makes Games, came out in 2018 and received a very high score of 94 on Metacritic. It was quickly recognized as one of the best games that year and has become the studio’s most celebrated achievement in their six releases so far.
In Celeste, you control Madeline as she climbs the challenging Celeste Mountain. Her journey isn’t just about overcoming the mountain’s dangers, but also facing her own personal struggles.
So, that’s my take on things! I’d love to hear what you think, though – feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below, or jump into the discussion over on the ComicBook Forum. I’m always up for chatting about this stuff!
