Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? – Issue 606

With only eight WAYP weekends remaining this year, I’m still prioritizing new releases, but I’m leaning towards games with a nostalgic feel. I plan to revisit Rob’s excellent review of Tekken 3 (he gave it 9/10) because I’m excited to play this PlayStation 1 fighting game when it’s added to PS Plus Premium in October 2025.

The Avengers Need to Take Back This Classic X-Men Hero

Most fans know Beast as one of the original X-Men and a brilliant mind, but he spent over six years as a core member of the Avengers, starting with issue #137 and continuing until issue #211, when he moved on to the Defenders. After decades focused solely on the X-Men, it’s time for Beast to return to the Avengers. The timing is perfect because there are two Beasts needing help: a clone grappling with the consequences of the original’s darker choices, and the original Beast himself, who needs to be reminded of what it means to be a hero.

Demon Slayer’s Next Movie Will Finally Solve The Anime’s Worst Inosuke Problem

The latest Demon Slayer movie ends with Tanjiro and Giyu winning their fight against Upper Rank Three, but the story isn’t over yet. The most powerful demons, Upper Rank Two and Upper Rank One, are still out there. The next movie will likely feature a battle against both of them. Fans of the original manga already have some idea of what to expect, and know there’s much more exciting action to come. The story will also explore a new side of Inosuke, potentially resolving a long-standing issue in both the manga and anime.

WWE SmackDown Just Shocked Everyone With A New Champion

Tonight’s SmackDown featured two championship matches. Chelsea Green challenged Giulia for the WWE Women’s United States Championship, and after a turbulent week, Green had a major victory! She defeated Giulia in a surprisingly quick match – lasting only about five or six minutes – shocking both the audience and fellow wrestler Kiana James, as well as Giulia herself.
