The new version of the game is being published by a company called EC Digital, which is largely unknown. They’ve stated they published the game back in 2006, but this is incorrect.
From the creators of Still Wakes the Deep, this game puts you in the roles of Phyre, an ancient vampire, and Fabien, a detective with a unique perspective. Together, they investigate the vampire clans of Seattle. Your character’s abilities – like telekinesis, controlling blood, or hypnosis – will depend on the vampire Discipline you choose.
As a huge fan, I’m so excited to see all the classic modes – Campaign, Sandbox, and Challenge – are back! And they’ve added tons of new locations and scenarios to keep things fresh. It’s amazing that you can now raise over 85 different species, and they’ve even added baby dinosaurs! There’s also some cool new attractions like the Balloon Tour and Cretaceous Cruise, but the best part might be the Island Generator – you can literally build your own dinosaur park from the ground up!
You’ll primarily use the Traveller’s handgun, though the Flamethrower is also available and great for keeping enemies at bay. Any progress you make carries over to the full game, which is currently 15% off on Steam and the Epic Games Store until November 4th. The game has a charming, retro style reminiscent of classic Super Nintendo games, with a top-down perspective. However, unlike many games of that era, fishing is a core part of the gameplay, as you can see in the trailer.
The developer and publisher, Playside Studios, announced on Twitter that their main focus right now is making sure the game is as good as it can be. This means they’ve delayed the release, but they believe it will ultimately lead to a better experience for players. They were planning to share a release date at the Galaxies Gaming Showcase on October 23rd, but might show something different instead.
So, it looks like Tero Virtala is staying with Remedy while they look for someone new to be CEO. And Sami Mäki, who used to be Chairman of the Board and is still a key part of the team running things, is taking over for now. He actually said some really nice things about Tero, thanking him for everything he’s done for the company since 2016 and wishing him well. It sounds like a pretty smooth transition, honestly, and I’m glad to hear Tero’s contributions were so valued!
Before attempting Nighthaven Runs, make sure you have a Potion of Fool’s Sight. It’s absolutely essential – you won’t be able to succeed without it.
Because the latest gaming systems are still expensive, fewer people are upgrading, and this is now impacting game publishers – even Capcom has noted the slowdown.
Okay, so the new season is amazing for damage! Seriously, I’m already blowing up enemies with way more power thanks to the new Perks and some tweaks to the gear. If you’re like me and love seeing those huge damage numbers pop up, you’re gonna have a blast this season!
