After they’ve been released, it appears that Kojima might finally get the chance to direct a movie. In an interview with Brut (translated by Genki on Twitter), he mentioned that he would look into the state of affairs at Kojima Productions following the launch of both titles and potentially move forward with a film project if possible.

The series follows the adventures of captain James Holden (Steven Strait) and his eclectic group of space explorers aboard their ship, the “Rocinante,” as they become entangled in escalating tensions between the factions and encounter a mysterious force known as the Protomolecule. As of 2022, only six out of nine James S.A. Corey novels have been adapted into the show, leaving many storylines unresolved. It is hoped that “The Expanse” will return at some point in the future to complete its compelling narrative arc.
It’s evident that Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe had some notable disparities if we delve beyond the overall earnings and focus on individual performances. While two films, notably Deadpool and Wolverine, amassed a colossal $1.34 billion collectively, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 brought in an impressive $845.6 million, other titles underperformed significantly compared to expectations. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania managed $476.1 million, Captain America: Brave New World earned $415.1 million, Thunderbolts made $381.9 million despite positive critical and fan reception, all falling short of profitability.
