The phone calls and chases involving Casey Becker in Scream and Cici Cooper in Scream 2 are brilliantly tense and have become iconic horror moments, but they don’t quite reach the level of true originality we’re looking for—though Casey’s gruesome death came very close. We should also consider the deaths of Ghostface themselves. Matthew Lillard’s character getting crushed by a TV is unforgettable and definitely earns a spot on the list. Released in 1989 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Batman: The Video Game by Sunsoft is a surprisingly excellent platformer and stands out as one of the best games based on DC Comics.
