Spaceballs 2’s Most Interesting Star Wars Parody Isn’t a Movie Character or Storyline

Last year, as Spaceballs 2 was being made, fans started to get a sense of the film’s direction. The movie appears to be largely focused on parodying the Star Wars sequel trilogy, with Lewis Pullman playing Lone Starr’s son, Starburst—a clever casting choice—and Keke Palmer as Destiny, who many believe is a humorous take on Rey. While this could be very funny, the most interesting parody Spaceballs 2 could achieve isn’t about imitating specific characters or plots. It has a great chance to poke fun at Star Wars fans themselves.
