The popular anime series Made in Abyss is known for its intense and often dangerous situations for its young characters, who explore a mysterious chasm in search of riches and excitement. Due to its success, the series has expanded beyond the TV show with multiple films. Now, a brand new trilogy of movies is planned, and the first film is scheduled to premiere in Japan this October. Sources at Variety predict The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will make between $175 and $180 million in the U.S. during its first five days, starting with its release on April 1st. It’s also expected to earn at least another $175 million internationally, bringing its worldwide opening total to between $350 and $375 million. While this is slightly lower than the opening weekend for The Super Mario Bros. Movie a few years ago ($204 million domestically, $377 million globally), even the lower end of these predictions would still make it the highest-grossing opening weekend of 2026, surpassing the $140 million earned by Project Hail Mary.

The latest trailer for Supergirl gives fans the clearest view yet of Lobo and shows him in action. He looks exactly as he does in the comics! Although Lobo isn’t featured in the eight-issue comic series Woman of Tomorrow which is the basis for the new DCU movie, writer Tom King originally planned the story to center around Lobo and Supergirl. However, the editors, Brittany Holzherr and Jamie S. Rich, persuaded King to make Supergirl the strong, determined protagonist – similar to the character Rooster Cogburn from the novel True Grit. This meant Lobo, known as the galaxy’s best bounty hunter, was left out of the comic.
