I’m really excited about this new short! It takes the core idea of the original Power Rangers – a team chosen to defend Earth – but flips it on its head. Instead of succeeding, their mission fails, and the world ends up a dark, machine-controlled wasteland. It’s a much grittier, more mature take on the show we all loved as kids, clearly made for those of us who grew up with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and want something a little more intense now.

The PlayStation 1 was a hugely popular console, but some of its games haven’t aged well. While titles like Gran Turismo were once beloved, they’re now difficult to enjoy, and other popular games from that era haven’t held up much better.

The 1990s produced many iconic anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell. But while those titles remain popular, a lot of other great anime from that decade have been largely forgotten, remembered only by dedicated fans. These shows may not be famous, but they absolutely deserve more recognition from the anime community.

James Van Der Beek is famous for his role as Dawson Leery in the popular teen show Dawson’s Creek. His character on the show was a big fan of director Steven Spielberg. Although Van Der Beek and Spielberg never collaborated professionally, Spielberg and his wife were among those who donated to a GoFundMe campaign.

The new series The Rookie: North, a spin-off of Alexi Hawley’s The Rookie starring Nathan Fillion, will feature Jay Ellis, age 44, as Alex Holland. Similar to Fillion’s character John Nolan, Holland is a newcomer to law enforcement who joins the Pierce County Police Department in Washington state after experiencing a traumatic home invasion. He’s the oldest rookie the department has ever had.

Following the big success of the first two Frozen movies, Frozen 3 was officially confirmed in 2023. Since then, the only Frozen content released was the LEGO Disney Frozen: Operation Puffins special on Disney+. Everyone expected Frozen 3 to be the next big release in the series.

Prime Video is highlighting romantic movies this weekend, including two beloved classics starring a Hollywood icon, and a hidden gem original film with familiar faces from popular TV series.

Written by Matthew Robinson, who also created Love and Monsters, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die stars Sam Rockwell as a man from the future. He enters a busy diner with explosives, warning everyone that artificial intelligence will eventually destroy the world. But convincing the people in the diner to believe him – and join his fight – is difficult, as they’re both skeptical and overly reliant on technology themselves.

Bryan Singer is a director known for controversy, facing accusations of misconduct and sexual assault throughout his career. He directed three X-Men movies – X-Men, X2, and X-Men: Days of Future Past – alongside Halle Berry, but their collaboration was reportedly difficult.

This show is one of several new original series Netflix released this week, along with titles like Motorvalley, Lead Children, and How to Get to Heaven from Belfast. Some of the other series are already popular, and this one is expected to be as well.
