The cancellation of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is a worrying sign for the future of Star Trek. It’s been ten years since Star Trek: Discovery launched the franchise into the world of streaming, and now, for the first time since then, there are no new Star Trek TV shows currently being made.
Sana Amanat, an executive producer, and Dario Scardapane, the showrunner of Daredevil: Born Again, recently talked to Entertainment Weekly about Jessica Jones’ reappearance in the new season and clarified why Luke Cage and Iron Fist won’t be appearing alongside her.
Jason Momoa recently shared an update on social media, saying he and his family were safe after the recent events, but many others were still in danger and he was sending them support. He described the conditions on Oahu’s North Shore as extremely difficult. Despite being in a risky situation himself, Momoa is using his platform to highlight the struggles of those less visible. While he was able to reach safety, many others needed rescue or were forced to leave their homes. Thankfully, relief efforts are underway, and Hawaii Governor Josh Green reported that, so far, there have been no deaths.

It’s been over ten years since Jack Reacher first appeared in movies, played by Tom Cruise. While Cruise is usually great in action roles, many devoted fans of the Jack Reacher books weren’t happy with the casting because Cruise doesn’t match the character’s large size. So, when Amazon Prime decided to create a new series of Jack Reacher stories, they chose Alan Ritchson, an actor who physically embodies the character much more closely.
A fantastic WWII action movie came out in 2022, but it didn’t get the attention it deserved. It was a classic revenge story – a man tracking down the Nazis who stole his gold. While it didn’t do well in theaters, critics loved it, giving it a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and it quickly gained a dedicated following. A sequel was released three years later, and though it also underperformed at the box office, it received even better reviews, with praise focused on its incredibly intense and violent action. Now, that sequel is available on Netflix and is becoming a huge hit with viewers.
Disney’s Moana (2016) and its sequel, Moana 2 (2024), were huge hits. Moana 2 actually earned more at the box office than the original, taking in over $1 billion globally. The first Moana film is also incredibly popular on Disney+, with viewers streaming it for more than 1.4 billion hours.
Lots of new games are coming out for fans every month. These games explore both brand new areas and revisit beloved locations, like the recently released Pokémon Alola Seaglass, which is generating a lot of excitement online, especially on platforms like Reddit.
As a huge movie fan, it’s amazing to see how well Spider-Man is doing, even with the whole Sony/Marvel situation. Spider-Man is basically Sony’s biggest cash cow, and No Way Home was a massive win for Marvel – right up there with Endgame. So, it totally makes sense they’re trying to recapture that magic with this new film, Brand New Day. They aren’t bringing back past Spider-Men, but I’ve got a feeling the trailer is deliberately hiding something… specifically, Daredevil. With the Punisher already confirmed, Daredevil feels like the missing piece – he’s a crucial street-level hero in the MCU, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he shows up.
The recently released World War II action thriller is already a hit on the streaming service, quickly becoming a Top 10 film in the US. While many WWII movies focus on the historical events, this one stands out by using exciting action sequences to tell a fresh and compelling story.
