Netflix has hired Elle Duncan, formerly of ESPN, as its first dedicated on-air sports host. She’s signed a multi-year contract to host live sporting and cultural events, starting with Skyscraper Live in early 2026. This event will feature Alex Honnold attempting to free solo climb Taipei 101, Taiwan’s tallest building.

We’re getting away from just big-budget effects and endless reboots, and instead seeing a return to more thoughtful, character-driven sci-fi. Netflix has been great with films like Bird Box, The History of Future Folk, and They Cloned Tyrone – they all feel fresh and unique. But 2020 also brought us a fantastic original from Prime Video, and honestly, it’s quickly become one of my favorite sci-fi movies of the 21st century.

Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock Officially Reveals Release Date With First Teaser

Director Guy Ritchie first brought his take on Sherlock Holmes to the screen in 2009, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the famous detective and Jude Law as Dr. Watson. The team quickly began working on a sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, which came out just two days later. However, plans for further sequels never came to fruition. Now, Ritchie has announced a new project set in the same universe: a prequel series called Young Sherlock, scheduled to premiere on March 4, 2026.
