A fan-favorite character from Star Trek: Starfleet Academy has formed a connection with four well-known characters from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager. The eighth episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, titled “The Life of the Stars,” and created by Gaia Violo & Jane Maggs with direction from Andi Armaganian, marks a significant turning point for Kerrice Brooks’ character, Series Acclimation Mil (SAM).

Marvel is keeping the plot of the upcoming Doomsday project largely secret, but rumors suggest Doctor Doom will seek revenge against Steve Rogers. This rivalry is predicted to be one of the most significant changes to the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Apparently, Doom’s time travel to be with Peggy Carter after Avengers: Endgame caused a collision between universes, leading to major consequences for him.

Last week, insider Daniel Richtman reported that Doctor Doom will have a powerful wizard as a key ally in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. This wizard will use a sling ring – a magical device in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that allows users to open portals to different places or even other dimensions. This news led fans to speculate that Doctor Strange might be working with Doom in the movie, and it now appears that theory is likely true.

According to Tolkien, Sauron wasn’t worried about the One Ring being destroyed because it couldn’t be broken or unmade by anyone less skilled than himself. This suggests that a craftsperson with equal or greater skill could have potentially destroyed the Ring without needing to throw it into Mount Doom. By the time of The Lord of the Rings, though, no one alive possessed that level of skill. Sauron had originally learned his craft from Aulë, a powerful god of forging, but there might have been individuals in the distant past who could have unmade the Ring.

Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, revealed that she and Tom Holland are now married. He casually mentioned at the 2026 Actor Awards to Access Hollywood that the wedding had already taken place, and confirmed it was indeed true when asked.

Zack Snyder suggests his DC story could continue beyond live-action movies. While discussing the 10th anniversary of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, he mentioned he’s considered options like animation or comic books to finish the story he originally planned after Justice League.

I was so excited to hear on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that Zack Snyder actually had a plan for a Man of Steel sequel! He told Josh Horowitz that Brainiac was going to be the main villain, which would have been incredible for the DCEU. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see that story unfold.

This week’s episode of Dark Winds was packed with developments. Beyond Irene’s unexpected kiss with Leaphorn, the episode moved the story forward by sending the characters to Los Angeles, continuing the investigation into Chee’s mysterious illness, and creating tension between Chee and Leaphorn over Leaphorn’s plans to retire. It was a busy episode, and deserves a closer look at everything that happened.
