It arrived in 1995, following the success of Rodriguez’s first popular movie, El Mariachi (released in 1992), and was later followed by the classic Once Upon a Time in Mexico in 2003. Desperado brings back Antonio Banderas as El Mariachi, continuing his journey for revenge as he confronts a notorious drug lord in Mexico.
