This story continues the adventure from the popular game, Doomed 2099. It features a future version of Doctor Doom who travels to the present day in an attempt to change his destiny.
A recent press release from writer Tieri, as reported by ComicBookMovie.com, announced an upcoming showdown between two iconic comic book villains. Following the cliffhanger ending of the previous issue – revealing that Doom 2099 erased his entire timeline and all life on Earth – fans have been eager for answers. Tieri states that the new comic, Doom 2099: Rage of Doom #1, will reveal how these events unfolded, and will feature Ultron as a key player in the catastrophic events.
The story of Doctor Doom versus Ultron begins with Doom casting a spell so powerful it destroys all life on Earth, a result he deeply regrets. Set in a bleak future in 2099, Doom unearths Ultron’s head and takes a huge gamble to fix his time machine. However, bringing such a dangerous AI back online sparks a new conflict, and Doom may find that achieving redemption comes at an unimaginable cost.
