Originally, Marvel Television planned to release Wonder Man on Disney+ in December, making it the first live-action Marvel series since Ironheart. However, the show, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, has been pushed back. All eight episodes will now be available to stream at once on January 27, 2026.

The sci-fi drama stars Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka, a romance novelist who discovers she’s unaffected by a strange virus. This virus makes everyone else blissfully happy and content, turning Carol into the only unhappy person left. She then has to find a way to save the world from this “happiness contagion” before it erases everyone’s unique personality and sense of self.
Many past box office hits don’t hold up well today and would likely fail to succeed if released now. They’ve either become too disconnected from modern audiences or have been surpassed by similar, better films. We’re not saying these movies are all bad—some are still enjoyable—but their initial success wouldn’t translate to today’s market.
Now that Bugonia is widely available in theaters, the remake has quickly broken a box office record. Deadline reports the film, starring Stone, is predicted to earn $4.4 million domestically this weekend. This is Lanthimos’s biggest opening weekend ever, surpassing the previous record of $2.9 million set by Poor Things.
