Tom King and Bilquis Evely have delivered something really special with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. For Kara, it’s about confronting her own past, the loss of Krypton, and the memory of her father. It’s a surprisingly mature take on the character, and it really resonated with me.
Wynonna Earp is difficult to categorize. Some see it as a fantasy show with a Western setting, used mainly to tell a story about a strong female lead. Others consider it a modern Western at its core, given its basic storyline and structure. The truth is likely a blend of both perspectives.
Richard Harington played Dane Whitman in the 2021 film Eternals, directed by Chloé Zhao. In fact, more than in Superman, it appears Gunn’s experience with the Marvel Cinematic Universe – particularly his Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy – heavily shaped the movie, as evidenced by the first trailer.

The first trailer for Supergirl gives us a decent look at the movie, and it’s hard not to compare it to other films. For me, it strongly reminds me of a particularly well-regarded superhero and science fiction movie from the 2010s.
