Director Renny Harlin has refreshed the The Strangers franchise with his recent films, The Strangers: Chapter One and The Strangers: Chapter Two. He’s planning a third installment soon, and he’s expanding the scope of the series, showing how easily malice can take hold in a close-knit community. While the films share a common framework, each one has its own strengths and weaknesses in terms of storytelling. Harlin is aiming for a bigger, more impactful experience with each release.

Simply changing The Kang Dynasty to Doomsday isn’t just a matter of replacing a name and updating the titles. Even if Kang doesn’t appear in future films, we believe Kang and Doctor Doom likely shared a backstory within the Marvel Cinematic Universe-events that may have already occurred but weren’t shown on screen. Actually, certain things we did see happen throughout the MCU could be a direct consequence of their actions.

It turns out this isn’t the first time this has happened either; Veronica Cale gives a quick rundown of other vigilantes who’ve tried to shake up the established order in the past.

On September 29th, Silver Lake Partners, the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund PIF, and Affinity Partners bought EA for $52.5 billion, creating the largest private equity buyout in history. Some well-known figures in the gaming industry believe this deal could signal trouble for the major video game company.

Debuting in the United States on May 30th, Bring Her Back has been ranked as one of the most frightening films ever created by the Science of Scare Project. The movie landed at #24 in their latest research. Directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, this film-a follow-up to Talk to Me-is a powerfully bleak and intense exploration of grief. It’s understandable why participants in the study found it so disturbing. The movie is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, earning an 89% rating from critics who described it as “too dark for mainstream audiences.” Horror fans, however, have found it equally terrifying, giving it an audience score of 79%.

In We Bury the Dead, Ridley plays Ava Newman, a woman driven to find her husband after a disastrous military experiment destroys the landscape. When the experiment goes wrong, Ava joins a team that collects bodies, hoping to find him among the casualties. However, her search takes a terrifying turn as the corpses she handles begin to show signs of life. The trailer (seen below) suggests a thrilling and frightening experience, filled with horrors as Ava continues her rescue mission. The film explores difficult themes like grief, loss, and the undead.

A major reason viewers loved Sherlock was its limited release schedule. With just four seasons, a special, and a short mini-episode, fans were given the captivating stories of Sherlock and John slowly over time, frequently waiting almost two years for a new season. Though some seasons were particularly strong in terms of story and visuals, the quality wasn’t consistent across all of Sherlock. Here’s a ranking of all the seasons and episodes, from the least enjoyable to the best.
