The Apothecary Diaries chronicles the tale of Maomao, delving into the enigmas she unravels, her profession and expertise as an apothecary, the individuals who surround her, and undeniably, her connection with Jinshi. While some viewers are excited for the series to escalate further, all aspects of the narrative play a crucial role in shaping Maomao’s character growth. With only nine episodes remaining in Season 2, the anime is steadily approaching another thrilling climax, weaving each new installment into the intricate fabric of Maomao’s story.

In my humble opinion as a movie critic, I enthusiastically watched the premiere of “Clean Slate” on February 6th, and it was indeed a laugh-out-loud comedy sitcom. This series, which boasts the creative minds of Laverne Cox from “Orange Is the New Black” and George Wallace from “Batman Forever,” had me hooked from the get-go, as they also grace our screens with their on-screen presence.

However, despite the initial wave of favorable reviews, it seems the streaming giant, Prime Video, has decided to pull the plug on “Clean Slate” after just one season. This news leaves me a tad disappointed, as I was eagerly anticipating more episodes from this promising show.

In the fifth episode of Season 3, titled “Full-Moon Party,” character Timothy Ratliff, portrayed by Jason Isaacs, entertained dark thoughts about self-harm due to his financial woes and family issues. Notably, he donned a shirt emblazoned with Duke’s insignia during this scene, which sparked controversy from the university over the use of their logo. More recently, Isaacs discussed the issue on Rob Lowe’s podcast, mentioning that he would sport Duke merchandise whenever cameras are present.

Recently added to Netflix’s collection of true-crime documentaries is the release of “Oklahoma City Bombing: American Terror“, marking the 30th anniversary of the bombing. This documentary offers a fresh perspective on the events of that day, delving into the causes leading up to the federal building bombing and identifying those responsible. The production incorporates audio-recorded interviews with the main culprit, Timothy McVeigh, and reenactments of the crime scene for a more authentic portrayal of the unfortunate incident. By featuring interviews with survivors, law enforcement officials, and family members of the victims, Netflix’s new documentary provides an updated account of the events while honoring the memories of the victims.

It’s not wise to deny that numerous grown-ups haven’t continued to be enthusiasts of the things they cherished as children. Whether it’s video games, animated stories, or the countless charming characters from Sanrio, many of us continue to express our affection for these favorites throughout our lives. Therefore, those who follow Hello Kitty on X were probably thrilled when this little character (who will turn 50 in 2024!) chose to send a birthday greeting to another character, Pompompurin.
