Sir Lenny Henry

Age: 66
Job: Comedian
In his career, Lenny Henry has accomplished numerous feats, yet venturing into a shark’s native habitat was likely not an expectation (or item on his bingo card) until he received that special call.
When inquired about participation, the comedian responded: “Upon being asked, ‘Would you be interested in a journey focused on ecology and shark exploration?’ I didn’t react with a typical cartoon-like surprise where my eyes pop out. Instead, I genuinely pondered it and thought to myself, ‘Well, that sounds intriguing. I’d enjoy participating.’

Lucy Punch, widely recognized for her diverse performances in television and film, such as her latest work in Amandaland, showed great enthusiasm about participating in a project like this.
The actress explained that the show carries a significant message. Unlike typical wildlife programs which mainly speak to those already convinced, the entertaining aspect of this show on ITV transforms it into family-friendly viewing and attracts a completely new group of viewers.
She also mentioned: “Beyond doubt, it was a rare, one-time chance. Despite my numerous doubts, I agreed almost instantly. I realized I’d be sorry for missing out on such an extraordinary, unique event, and I couldn’t let that happen. It exceeded expectations and was every bit as life-altering as promised.

I’m well-recognized for my role as a TV host, particularly for co-hosting the popular series Countdown on Channel 4, along with its offshoot 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
While discussing the production of the series, Riley mentioned that what drew her and the other participants was the show’s “honesty” or “authenticity.
She clarified: “We weren’t there to make fools of ourselves or subject ourselves to unneeded hardships for amusement. Instead, we were in the shark’s domain. It was crucial to show respect and our primary purpose was to admire and delight in it. We worked together as a team.
There wasn’t any rivalry among us, as nobody had the concern of sticking around until the following week due to eliminations. Instead, we unitedly participated in this event, with everyone aiming for collective success.

Many are familiar with Ade Adepitan due to his extensive television work, including hosting programs such as “Africa with Ade Adepitan,” “Climate Change: Ade on the Frontline,” and “Whites Only: Ade’s Extremist Adventure.
For Ade, participating in the series was an unparalleled chance, since it doesn’t often happen that one gets invited to swim with sharks in the Bahamas.
He also pointed out that the show carried an essential environmental message, since he shares similar ecological views.
Dougie Poynter

Dougie Poynter is primarily recognized for being a band member of McFly, and also as one of the numerous monarchs of the jungle, having triumphed on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2011.

He explained the sensation as if he transforms into another individual, with all previous concerns vanishing altogether.
As a film enthusiast, I find myself resonating deeply, connecting back to our essence as Earthly beings – without resorting to clichés. I am humbled by the sheer wonder of coexisting with so many captivating entities that far surpass my own intrigue.
