Gogglebox is getting the Hollywood treatment!
For a special Stand Up to Cancer episode of Gogglebox, actors Josh Hartnett and Kieran Culkin will be watching and reacting to the week’s top TV shows alongside the regular cast of viewers.
This Friday, four celebrity couples will compete. The first two pairings announced are Josh Hartnett, known for his role in ‘Trap,’ and his wife, Tamsin Egerton of ‘St Trinian’s,’ and Kieran Culkin from ‘Succession’ with his wife, Jazz Charton.
Hartnett shared that Tamsin first got him interested in Gogglebox years ago, and he’s been watching it ever since.
Spending time with her – sharing laughs and maybe even a few awkward moments – while supporting a great cause is the ideal way to start the holidays.
“I’m incredibly excited to be a part of it, and to support Stand up to Cancer.”

Egerton explained that they began watching Gogglebox in 2020 during lockdown. They found it really comforting to see other families across the UK watching television alongside them, and appreciated how well the show represented different parts of the country.
Since then, Josh and I have made an effort to watch it together whenever possible. I’m really looking forward to cozying up with him on the couch to support Stand Up to Cancer – it’s a cause that means a lot to us.
Macaulay Culkin, recently winning an Oscar for his role in A Real Pain, is a big fan of the show Gogglebox. A video of him explaining the show to Jesse Eisenberg while they were promoting their movie went viral on TikTok.
He described the show as one of the best he’s ever seen, comparing its commentary to the style of Beavis and Butt-Head. He particularly enjoyed that it featured people from all over England, and since he doesn’t watch much TV, it gave him a good feel for what’s currently on.

I’m so excited for Stand Up to Cancer this year! Davina McCall and Adam Hills are hosting, and it sounds like they’ve put together an amazing night. They’ll have special episodes of shows like Celebrity Gogglebox and The Last Leg, plus really touching stories and performances. It’s all about everyone – the public and celebrities – coming together to raise money for vital cancer research, and I can’t wait to tune in and support the cause.
Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK recently launched a joint campaign to encourage more people to participate in NHS cancer screening programs.
The highlight of Friday night is “Cancer Clinic: Live,” a groundbreaking new campaign led by McCall. The program will broadcast live from a unique, temporary cancer clinic located at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
Viewers will follow the real-life stories of cancer patients and their families, from the moment they receive a diagnosis, through getting their results, and as they begin treatment.
For the first time on UK television, viewers will be able to watch real-time consultations between cancer specialists at Addenbrooke’s and Royal Papworth Hospitals and their patients.
