Celebrity Traitors fan favourite makes surprise entrance in exclusive look at epic TV event with comedy legends

The popular live show, known as The Wrestling at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, features stand-up comedians battling it out in a wrestling ring, sometimes with the help of professional wrestlers.

This clip from the show, recorded at the Eventim Apollo last month and now streaming on U, features Ed Gamble revealing the surprise competitor for James Acaster: it’s Marler, the popular former England rugby player known as Faithful.

But Joe Lycett quickly interrupted, pointing out, “James said he challenged someone from comedy or wrestling. This person is obviously a handsome former rugby player.”

Ed says: “That’s where you’re wrong. I’ve been training him up.”

Watch the clip above to find out how Marler’s comedy training has paid off. Good luck, Acaster…

The show will also feature comedians who have appeared on Taskmaster, including Maisie Adam, Rosie Jones, and Phil Wang.

Lycett is the event’s CEO, Ivo Graham will host, and Greg James, Sara Pascoe, and Nish Kumar will provide commentary.

I’m so excited! ‘Clash of the Comics’ is finally here – you can stream it on U right now! And if you prefer to watch it live, it’s going to be on U& Dave on December 5th at 9pm. Definitely don’t want to miss it!
