Céline Dion‘s heart will always go on for René Angélil.
The singer of “The Power of Love” recently shared a touching message remembering her husband, who passed away 10 years ago at the age of 73 after fighting cancer for several years.
Céline shared a touching tribute on Instagram, marking ten years since the loss of her former manager. She wrote that despite a decade having passed, it feels like only yesterday, yet each day without him feels incredibly long. She also expressed that while she misses his physical touch, she still feels his presence every day, accompanied by a photo of his portrait.
The Grammy-winning artist wasn’t the only one to pay tribute to René, who started guiding Céline’s career when she was just 12 years old and later married her in 1994. The post also featured a message from their three sons: René-Charles Angélil, age 24, and 15-year-old twins, Nelson and Eddy Angélil.
“We miss you more than we can bear,” the message continued, “but you taught us to be strong.”
They added, “We love you more, every day and every year.”
Céline has discussed René’s death in 2016 before. Soon after he passed away, she openly shared the difficult feelings she experienced during his last days.
In 2016, she shared with People magazine that losing her husband at age 48 was devastating. While she deeply misses the happy times they shared, she found comfort in knowing she didn’t prolong his suffering. She explained that letting go was the selfless thing to do and ultimately brought her peace.

René’s health had been failing for a few years before he died. In 2014, Céline canceled her shows in Las Vegas to care for him, and again in 2016 after his death to grieve his loss.
Céline shared with People magazine that watching her husband struggle for three years was incredibly difficult. Now that he’s healthy, their relationship has changed for the better. She finds joy in seeing him every day through the eyes of their children.
