Chad Michael Murray’s daughter found it freaky to meet Lindsay Lohan in real life.
In a charming turn of events, the actor who starred in “One Tree Hill” and “Parent Trap”, and played a role in the 2003 adaptation of “Freaky Friday”, revealed that their 8-year-old daughter was thrilled to meet her for the first time at the premiere of the sequel, with Sarah Roemer being his wife.
Chad Michael shared with TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi during the Freakier Friday red carpet on July 22, “My daughter was starstruck when she met Lindsay.” He then mimicked his daughter’s surprised expression. However, he added, “She doesn’t usually act like that.
Certainly, the 43-year-old individual (also a father of another son and a baby girl with Sarah), expressed his surprise as he found his daughter, who he believed would tread on his path of fame, quite starstruck upon meeting one of his co-stars.
He mentioned that she’s likely to step onto one of these rugs shortly. It seems like that’s her natural place, and yet it’s strange, almost surreal, to witness someone we’ve only seen on screen in real life.
As a lifestyle expert, I must confess that during my recent venture into the world of entertainment, I found myself in an interesting predicament. You see, my young daughter, who’s just turned 8, felt a tad awkward when she witnessed me playing the heartthrob Jake in the original film. It was a bit of a reality check for both of us, as we navigated through the blurred lines between father and on-screen character.
He said, “She teases me more than anyone else,” explaining his experience. “The day before I began filming ‘Freakier’, she was watching the original ‘Freaky Friday’. I suggested, ‘Let me share with all of you what I’ve been working on.’
As a lifestyle expert, I must admit that when my unnamed daughter met Lindsay Lohan, she was taken aback by the charisma and charm radiating from the iconic actress. However, upon encountering an earlier iteration of her father, she found herself less captivated by the early 2000s version of him.
Chad Michael recollected that when Jake appeared on screen, she exclaimed, ‘What happened to your hair? You look terrible!’ It seemed like she was mortified by my appearance.

Despite some initial reservations, the former star of “Gilmore Girls” found the process of rejoining Lindsay and Jamie Lee Curtis for the movie’s sequel incredibly enjoyable. This pleasure was significantly enhanced by the ease with which he could discuss the project with his loved ones.
He was overflowing with praise, exclaiming, ‘It’s simply exceptional! There’s nowhere else quite like it.’ Each day, returning home leaves me invigorated. In this place, I envision spending some time until my children reach an older age.
As he put it, “I’d like to stay in this world where you come home light.”

The 2003 movie “Freaky Friday” is actually the second time this story has been remade, as it originates from Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel. The first film adaptation was released back in 1976, and a television version came out in 1995.
2. The movie’s producer, Andrew Gunn, contacted Jodie Foster, who starred as Annabel in the 1976 film, to propose that she might be interested in playing the mother role. However, Foster declined the offer due to concerns that her casting could cause a distraction.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “I was all set to step into the shoes of Tess Coleman, but unfortunately, just six days before we were due to roll the cameras, I had to make the tough decision to step away from the project.
4. Having gained prominence as the first “scream queen” in the film “Halloween,” Jamie Lee Curtis believed her days as a leading actress might be over. However, when director Mark Waters proposed she take on a role previously offered to Bening, a new opportunity emerged for her.
In 2003, Curtis shared with The Telegraph that during interviews he mentioned being 44 years old, having a bit of extra weight, sporting grey hair that I didn’t color, and being satisfied with my life. He’s always understood in this profession that there comes a time when it’s wise to gracefully step away.
5. After studying the script and consulting with Waters, Curtis opted to embrace the matriarch character, coloring her hair and learning to play the guitar for this purpose. This transformation rejuvenated her career, she shared, demonstrating the power of surrendering and experiencing a sense of freedom.
Following her memorable debut in “The Parent Trap“, Lindsay Lohan momentarily stepped away from the spotlight in Hollywood, expressing that she was taken aback by the sudden stardom she encountered.
She expressed in 2003 to IGN, “Everything happened simultaneously, and The Parent Trap was an outstanding film,” she said. “How can you surpass such greatness? I yearned for a normal life. I attended high school and participated in two Disney Channel projects, which were enjoyable, merely to maintain my routine.
But when she came across the script for Freaky Friday, Lohan knew it was “perfect” for her.
To secure the role of Anna, Lindsay Lohan first needed to outshine four other contenders. Initially, her audition didn’t impress director John Waters, who in a 2005 episode of “True Hollywood Story” on TopMob, commented that it was “likely the weakest of the five.” Yet, Waters also acknowledged, “We also recognized she was a star. She possessed this extraordinary turmoil and vitality which we believed would add an intriguing dimension to the character.
Initially, Kelly Osbourne was chosen to portray Lohan’s friend in the movie, but she declined after her mother, Sharon Osbourne, was diagnosed with colon cancer, causing her to step away from the project.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2013, Osbourne expressed that he had to decide between pursuing a career or spending the potentially final days of his mother’s life by her side. He made it clear that this was an easy choice for him. He put his career aside and devoted himself fully to caring for his mother day and night, becoming her full-time nurse.
9. In the movie, Lindsay Lohan shared her first on-screen kiss with Chad Michael Murray, who portrayed her character’s love interest Jake. “By the 15th take,” Lohan explained in a behind-the-scenes interview, “I had grown less anxious.
10. During a 2019 interview on Busy Tonight, Murray disclosed that he had also shared a kiss with Curtis off-camera to help calm Lohan’s nerves before their on-screen kiss. When Curtis invited Lohan and Murray into her trailer to break the ice before filming, Murray explained that Curtis suddenly pulled him close and kissed him. His response? “Wow, I just kissed Jamie Lee Curtis! This is fantastic!
Initially, Tom Selleck was chosen for the role of Tess’ boyfriend Ryan, but he left the production following Bening’s departure. Later, Mark Harmon stepped into the part and developed a strong bond with Curtis. Interestingly, Curtis appeared as a guest star on several episodes of Harmon’s popular CBS series, NCIS.
12. Amir Derakh, a member of the band Orgy, instructed Curtis and Lohan in playing the guitar. Later, Lohan recorded her debut single, “Ultimate,” for the soundtrack.
In the last scene, Li’s mother and former manager, Dina Li, makes a brief appearance as a guest at the wedding.
I, being a devoted admirer, once portrayed Annabel’s romantic interest in the 1976 film, now find myself making a fleeting return as Boris, the delivery man.
15. In an alternative finale, Ryan Malgarini (Harry) and Harold Gould (Grandpa) discovered the fortune cookies that caused their body-swap right before an earthquake struck, leaving room for a possible follow-up story.
The buzz about a sequel grew strong when Curtis mentioned at a 2022 “Halloween Ends” press event in Mexico City that she would definitely return to play Tess. She also shared some insights on her friendship with Lohan, jokingly saying she would check up on the “Mean Girls” actress every time she texts to ensure it’s not a scam.
Curtis reminisced about a memorable scene from the movie, where they were attempting to learn the rap within a song while eating French fries in the car. He referred to the song as “Justin Timberlake’s ‘Like I Love You.'” In essence, they kept playing and rewinding the tape, working together on writing down the entire rap.
Approximately three months prior to the 20th anniversary of the initial film, Curtis and Lohan are anticipated to exchange bodies once more. It has been confirmed by TopMob News that a sequel to the movie is being developed.
