This year, Denji and the National Devil Extermination Public Safety Commission will make their big-screen debut with the highly anticipated movie titled “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc“. In this film, Denji, Makima, Power, and Aki will storm into cinemas as they take on their most formidable adversary yet: the Bomb Devil. The upcoming movie trailers have hinted at Denji’s new love interest, Reze, but the latest promo shows Denji’s Chainsaw Man persona battling against Reze’s terrifying transformation – the Bomb Devil.
Reze Arc” – based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga – debuts in US theaters on October 29th, while Japanese viewers can catch it a month earlier on September 19th. The movie presents Reze, a character seeking to snatch Denji away from Makima’s grasp. Although Denji is delighted that two women are trying to win his affection, one of them is taking the task quite literally.
Chainsaw Man‘s New Promo Hypes the Climactic Fight

Embarking on the captivating realm of “Chainsaw Man”, I find myself constantly questioning the identities of its characters, and Reze is no exception. On the surface, she appears as an adorable, laid-back individual, but beneath that deceptively innocent exterior, she conceals one of the world’s most formidable devils. The latest sneak peek for “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc” promises a heart-pounding confrontation between Chainsaw Man and the Bomb Devil, leaving me on the edge of my seat with anticipation!
On the official Chainsaw Man site, I came across an exhilarating banner showcasing Denji and Reze engaged in a fierce battle against a striking red backdrop, punctuated by blue splatters that resembled blood. This intense scene is a stark contrast to the criticism leveled at Season 1 for toning down Fujimoto’s original, vivid color scheme. The poster, with its borderline neon vibe, seems to be a deliberate embrace of Fujimoto’s vibrant art style.
Reze Arc Is Fixing Chainsaw Man‘s Biggest Problem

The new poster, as well as the trailers for Reze Arc, are enhancing the film’s vivid and luminous color scheme. Although the manga is in black and white, the colored spreads and cover pages burst with hues when they appear.
The first season of “Chainsaw Man” was helmed by Ryu Nakayama. While the series overall proved successful, there were criticisms aimed at Nakayama’s interpretation of Fujimoto’s artistic style. This constructive feedback led to Tatsuya Yoshihara, who worked on storyboarding and directing two episodes in Season 1, taking over as director for the upcoming movie.
2022 saw the explosive debut of MAPPA’s anime adaptation of “Chainsaw Man,” an exhilarating experience that, while not quite matching the epic buzz surrounding Tatsuki Fujimoto’s ongoing manga, came awfully close. As impatient as some fans have been since Season 1, the anticipation for this action-packed masterpiece to grace our screens in its full vibrancy is palpable. Western audiences will just need to steer clear of spoilers for a month when it finally drops in October. The wait might be arduous, but trust me, it’ll be worth every second!
Season 1 of Chainsaw Man is streaming on Crunchyroll.
