Nicholas Bailey, known for his role in EastEnders, is the latest celebrity joining the 2025 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, making him the fourth star confirmed to participate.
This Christmas, actress Bailey will trade her role on the soap opera ‘Albert Square’ for a chance to compete on ‘Strictly Come Dancing,’ partnering with professional dancer Luba Mushtuk.
EastEnders fans will remember Bailey for playing Dr. Anthony Trueman, a character who first appeared on the show 25 years ago. He was a regular cast member until 2003, and made several return visits before coming back again in 2025.
He’s also appeared in popular TV shows like Death in Paradise, Casualty, The Archers, Coronation Street, and Miranda. Beyond television, Bailey has performed in numerous stage productions throughout the UK and in London’s West End, including roles in Dream Girls and Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap.
Bailey shared their excitement about participating, saying their wife and daughters are just as thrilled. They hope to make their family, the residents of Albert Square, and dance partner Luba proud, and can’t wait to start dancing!

Bailey is the latest celebrity to join the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, alongside Scarlett Moffatt, Melanie Blatt, and Jodie Ounsley. The last two participants will be revealed this week on the show ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’.
I’m so excited for this year’s Christmas special – it’s going to be a bit emotional knowing it’s Tess and Claudia’s last time hosting! And of course, Shirley, Craig, Motsi, and Anton will be there to give their honest opinions – whether the dancers need a boost or a little constructive criticism. It’s always good to have their expert eyes on everything!
