Get ready for the Spring 2026 anime season! Along with plenty of new shows and returning favorites, a classic from the 1980s, Fist of the North Star, is getting a reboot. This action series is considered one of the best ever made, and the 80s were a golden age for anime and manga. While many modern fans focus on current trends, reboots like this are a great way to introduce older classics to a new audience. The original animation style is still loved by long-time fans, but updated animation and a fresh cast can draw in more viewers. A remake of Fist of the North Star was announced in 2023, and the latest trailer confirms it will premiere in Spring 2026.
When Is Fist of the North Star Remake Coming Out?
A new season of Fist of the North Star is set to premiere on April 10th, 2026. While the exact number of episodes isn’t known yet, it’s likely to have around 12 or 13. This remake is being produced by TMS Entertainment—the studio known for popular anime like Dr. Stone and the Fruits Basket reboot—instead of the original’s creator, Toei Animation. The reboot will be available to stream worldwide on Prime Video. The first trailer has also been released, giving fans a preview of the opening theme song, “Hallelujah” by Alexandros.
What Is Fist of the North Star About?

Along the way, Kenshiro uses his deadly fighting technique, Hokuto Shinken, to protect others from ruthless bandits. However, as he searches for Yuria, he encounters increasingly dangerous foes and must overcome new obstacles, ultimately becoming a beacon of hope in a shattered land.
