A popular PlayStation 2 game from 2007 appears to be getting a remake for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Sony has been actively bringing back beloved PS2 titles to modern PlayStation consoles for the past few years. We’ve already seen remakes of games like Sly Cooper, TimeSplitters, and Ape Escape, and Sony has hinted at more to come. Now, it looks like another major PlayStation franchise is getting the remake treatment.
A listing for trophies for *Tomb Raider: Anniversary* has appeared on True Trophies, suggesting the game will soon be released on both PS5 and PS4. Originally a remake of the first *Tomb Raider* game (originally on PS1) for the PS2, *Anniversary* was popular with fans and later released on several platforms like PSP and PS3. While Sony or Eidos haven’t officially announced this new release, the trophy listing confirms it’s likely coming to PlayStation.
This New PS2 Game Is Likely Bound for PS Plus

So, I’m pretty sure *Tomb Raider: Anniversary* will show up as one of those “Classic” titles on PlayStation Plus when it finally comes out. We saw the same thing happen with *Tomb Raider: Legend* earlier this year when it got updated for PS5 and PS4. Considering when this info leaked, I’m guessing *Anniversary* will be part of the new PS Plus games dropping in October 2025.
It’s possible the PlayStation 5 and 4 won’t get the original *Tomb Raider: Anniversary* version from the PlayStation 2. Sony has been releasing games originally made for the PSP on newer PlayStation consoles, so that version of *Anniversary* could be the one that’s re-released instead. We probably won’t have to wait long to find out for sure, as Sony is expected to announce official details soon. If the rumored PlayStation State of Play event happens this week, we might even hear about it then.
