Classic Wii Game Now Completely Free to PS Plus Subscribers

PlayStation Plus members can now download a popular game originally released on the Nintendo Wii for free. Sony recently announced its January 2026 lineup of free games, which includes a major title from Electronic Arts – a $70 value! But if that doesn’t appeal to you, there’s also a classic Wii game from 16 years ago available to download at no extra cost.

The popular game Epic Mickey is now available for PlayStation Plus subscribers! This isn’t the original 2010 version, but Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, a 2024 remake. The original game was only released on the Nintendo Wii, but developer Purple Lamp created Rebrushed to bring Epic Mickey to new platforms and remove the original’s motion controls. This marks the first time Epic Mickey has been playable on PlayStation consoles (PS5 and PS4). PlayStation users can now enjoy the game for free as part of their PS Plus subscription.

Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a colorful 3D platformer that lets you experience the wonder of Disney. The game reimagines Mickey Mouse’s journey through Wasteland, a world populated by Disney characters that have been forgotten. As Mickey, you’ll explore a fantastical world and use paint and thinner to change your adventure and decide the fate of this unique place.

As a big fan, I was so excited to see Epic Mickey: Rebrushed come out in 2024! It’s been a while since the original game got a sequel, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, way back in 2012, and I’m really hoping that one might get a remake too someday. Now that Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is on PlayStation Plus, I’m crossing my fingers that it’ll remind everyone how awesome this Disney series is. We’ll just have to wait and see if it leads to another remake or even a completely new Epic Mickey game, but at least now it’s easier for everyone to play!
