Imagine the Xbox Games Showcase didn’t end with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ, but instead finished with a big reveal of Clockwork Revolution. This first-person shooter RPG from inXile Entertainment is coming in early 2027 and, like Gears of War: E-Day, will only be available on Xbox consoles.
I just watched the new trailer and I’m really intrigued! It looks like you build a crew to pull off a heist on this place called the SS Vault Avalon. The team seems wild – you’ve got everything from an automaton named Nazim to this guy Frasmus who’s a total bruiser, and even Anne Darrow is back, though she’s toned down the language a bit! It’s a pretty quirky group, but it looks like all their skills don’t save them – the heist goes wrong and they send in a giant mech to wipe them out!
Just when it seems like everything is lost, a peculiar drone appears and sends the main character back in time twenty-five years. Armed with a powerful, enigmatic Gauntlet, they now have the chance to reshape Avalon and influence who ends up in the building the team plans to infiltrate, giving them a significant advantage.
That all sounds interesting, but it raises a lot of questions. Are these altered versions of people truly who they seem to be? What other changes have been made? And is anyone else messing with the past? We’ll get answers when Clockwork Revolution comes out next year for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
