Lambrini Girls will not be rocking out at Coachella 2026.
The punk band had to cancel their performance after lead singer Phoebe Lunny suffered a fractured neck and a brain injury.
Phoebe, one of the band’s lead singers along with Selin Macieira-Bosgelmez, expressed their disappointment in an Instagram post on April 8th, saying they really wanted to be there.
She explained that if it had been a broken leg, she would have performed anyway, just like Dave Grohl did in 2015 when he played a concert while recovering from a fractured fibula. She emphasized they weren’t treating the situation casually and expressed genuine sadness about it.
Phoebe added, “Because it is my neck and brain, our hands are tied for now.”
Phoebe explained she broke her neck while in Australia, but the injury wasn’t correctly diagnosed at first. This led her to seek medical attention much later than she should have.
Okay, so I’ve got some news – my doctors have put me on a six-week recovery plan, which means no flying or performing, unfortunately. But honestly, I’m feeling really positive and expecting to bounce back quickly – thankfully! I’m just so grateful for a speedy recovery.
To demonstrate their recovery was going well, Phoebe shared a photo of themselves in a hospital gown, playfully lifted to show their thong underwear.
Seeing a diverse crowd connect, support each other, and express a full range of emotions – from pure joy to righteous anger – is the most rewarding part for me,” she said. “Thank you for consistently being there for us.
This wasn’t the first time a member of the Lambrini Girls had missed performances. Back in September, Selin – who previously performed as Lilly Macieira – shared that she was taking a month off from touring to prioritize her mental wellbeing.

The bassist shared on Instagram that they’ve always found touring incredibly difficult. Despite trying their best to cope, these challenges have repeatedly overwhelmed them. They explained that after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and autism four years ago, they realized they’d spent their life getting used to a constant state of discomfort.
Following a particularly severe and damaging period of mania, Selin understood they needed to create a stable and secure space for themselves to heal and rebuild.
She explained that she’d been compromising her own values for a long time, and it had only hurt herself. She decided to stop pretending to be someone she wasn’t.
Lambrini Girls unfortunately won’t be performing at Coachella this year, but let’s take a look back at some of the festival’s most unforgettable moments from past years.

Anitta brought out the rapper as a surprise guest to perform “Onda Diferente.”

Shania Twain surprised the crowd at the 2022 Coachella festival by joining Harry Styles on stage. Together, they performed her popular songs, “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” and “You’re Still the One.”

As a lifestyle expert, I remember being totally blown away at Coachella in 2010! Everyone was surprised and thrilled when Jay-Z brought his wife, Beyoncé, onstage to perform their song ‘Young Forever.’ It was such a special moment, and a real treat for the audience – definitely one of those unforgettable festival experiences!

In 2012, when Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg performed at Coachella, they surprised fans with a holographic projection of the late Tupac Shakur, who had passed away in 1996. The image of the California rapper performing alongside them remained a hot topic on social media for months afterward.

In 2012, Calvin Harris surprised the audience by bringing Rihanna on stage. She performed her song “Where Have You Been” and then their collaboration, “We Found Love,” creating an unforgettable moment for the fans. The pair recreated the magic again in 2016, much to the delight of everyone present.

I’ll never forget the moment Fall Out Boy brought out 2 Chainz back in 2013! It was absolutely wild. 2 Chainz grabbed the mic and confidently told the crowd, ‘I didn’t just come here to help hip hop, I came to save rock n’ roll!’ It was such an unexpected and iconic moment, and honestly, it felt like they were going to shake up the whole music scene – in the best way possible.

Fans of Justin Bieber were thrilled when he unexpectedly appeared on stage with Chance the Rapper in 2014. Together, they performed their song, “Confident.”

Everyone knows Beyoncé is a fantastic dancer, but she really showed off her skills as an incredible backup dancer for her sister Solange during a performance in 2014. They teamed up again four years later, delivering an amazing dance performance at Beychella.

Nobody expected to see Madonna and Drake together on stage! During Drake’s 2015 concert, the moment he brought Madonna out after performing his song dedicated to her was unforgettable. While their collaboration was already a huge surprise, it was the kiss they shared that everyone talked about for weeks.

It’s exciting to see artists connect! After releasing a full mixtape together, it was natural for Drake to join Future on stage for a performance in 2017.

Beyoncé’s performance was already a huge success, but fans were especially surprised when her sister, Solange, joined her on stage. The biggest shock, though, was the unexpected reunion of Destiny’s Child. And as if that wasn’t enough, Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, also made an appearance during the weekend.

Ariana Grande’s 2019 performance was a major surprise for fans when *NSYNC reunited on stage with her, though Justin Timberlake couldn’t join due to his tour. The popular boy band performed their hit song “Tearin’ Up My Heart” and also sang a special version of Ariana’s song “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored.”
