Cody Johnson has to put down his microphone for the foreseeable future.
The 38-year-old country singer recently ruptured an eardrum after a bad cold and sinus infection. He’ll need a few months to recover and won’t be performing during that time.
I’m very sorry to announce that I have to cancel the rest of my concerts this year,” he shared in an Instagram post on October 7th. “I’ve been fighting a bad cold and sinus infection, and unfortunately, I ruptured my eardrum. It’s a serious injury that requires surgery right away.
Cody announced that he needs to reschedule his shows to focus on his health and well-being.
It will likely take several weeks to recover, and unfortunately, I won’t be able to sing during that time. Without the surgery, I could have been out of commission for months. I’m hoping for a complete recovery so I can get back to singing as soon as possible.
The singer of “‘Til You Can’t” expressed gratitude to his fans for their support, saying, “Thank you to the COJO Nation for all the love, now and forever.”
Oh my gosh, you guys, I nearly lost it when I heard! Cody actually *told* us the surgery went perfectly, and he’s HOME! He’s back from the medical center in Houston, safe and sound! I’m just…so relieved and happy for him. It’s the best news ever!
I just heard from him – the surgery went really well! He showed me the bandage on his ear and seems so positive. The doctor said he should make a full recovery if he keeps up with all the rehab, and he has a bunch of follow-up appointments scheduled, which is good. I’m just so relieved!
I just wanted to express my gratitude for all the support I’ve received – the messages, calls, and prayers. It really means a lot to me. I’m going to focus on getting some rest and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again in 2026.

She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with the condition for over ten years.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed a really common issue: so many of us are taught from a young age that periods are supposed to be painful, and we just accept it as ‘part of being a woman.’ It’s incredibly isolating, because we end up dealing with something that affects half the population mostly on our own. It doesn’t have to be that way, and we deserve to feel supported and empowered when it comes to our bodies.
In July 2025, the actress from *Daisy Jones & The Six* revealed she’d been hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she had been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap in her abdominal muscles.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its often harsh nature, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and facing criticism online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition often linked to high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Schumer to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She wouldn’t have known about the condition without the online feedback. In a recent newsletter, Schumer shared that she’s relieved to learn her case of Cushing syndrome is temporary and that she is otherwise healthy, calling it “the greatest news imaginable.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, struggling to speak and noticing her face drooping. Although her symptoms briefly subsided, she went to the hospital for evaluation. Doctors discovered she had experienced a TIA, or transient ischemic attack, caused by a small blood clot in her brain. Further testing at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, known as a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The clot had traveled through this hole and reached her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey successfully underwent a procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.
The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also went through a difficult time. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected nerves in his ear and face, causing paralysis. He showed fans that he couldn’t blink, smile, or move his nostril on the affected side, and that it was becoming increasingly difficult to eat. Thankfully, the paralysis eventually went away.
Hailey shared on *Good Morning America* that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better. She described the situation as scary and unexpected, but expressed her gratitude that he was going to be okay.

In his 2024 Netflix special, *What Had Happened Was…*, he explained that he suffered a severe headache one day and then lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next twenty days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.
Twenty days after surgery, on May 4th, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair, unable to walk. He then went to Chicago for extensive rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed deep gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”
The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running a mile during the opening challenge of the NBC show.
It’s just… hearing her talk about it still gives me chills. She was on this show, *Fit for TV*, and she said she doesn’t remember much, but she *does* remember the helicopter. She said it felt like she was just floating, completely disconnected. And then… her grandpa was just *there*. It’s like he came to get her. After that, she said it was just darkness, but then… light. She *knew*, she actually said she *knew* she had died that day. It’s so heartbreaking, but also… incredibly powerful. I’ve watched that clip a million times.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in *Game of Thrones*, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for *The New Yorker*. While filming the series, she experienced a sudden, severe headache while at the gym. She described collapsing and being violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.
A hospital scan quickly revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.
Though the aphasia eventually passed and she was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had doubled in size, requiring a second surgery. This surgery was unsuccessful, leading to a major bleed and a dire prognosis. Doctors had to perform a more invasive procedure, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia is now fully recovered and says she is “at a hundred per cent.”

While she could have gone home after the stroke, other health issues, including lupus and kidney problems, required a longer hospital stay. Cori is now recovering well, stating she’s doing great and has been working to regain some motor skills. She’s grateful for her family’s help during a challenging time.
Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she revealed she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue – unable to walk for more than five minutes without needing hours of rest – and persistent stomach pain. She described a confusing process of receiving conflicting diagnoses from various doctors.
Determined to find answers, Woodley, who has a background in herbalism, sought a combination of traditional medical care and alternative healing approaches. This search for well-being spanned a decade.
She explained that the physical discomfort led to deeper issues, including fear of food and struggles with body image, identity, and feeling comfortable in her own body.
Ultimately, Woodley’s health improved, and she is now feeling very well. She shared that her issues resolved themselves, and she’s happy to be in a healthy place.
