Colleen Hoover is ready to take readers on another winding ride. 

Certainly, the author has shared that her upcoming book, titled “Woman Down“, which is scheduled for release on January 13, will deviate significantly from much of her past work.

During his September 10th interview on the Today show, Hoover described the book as a gripping thriller, adding that it’s likely one of the darkest stories he has penned to date.

Remarkably, her 2018 thriller “Verity” – which will soon feature Anne Hathaway, Josh Hartnett, and Dakota Johnson on the big screen – is still generating a lot of buzz on BookTok because of its unexpected plot twists and turns that continue to shock readers years later.

Regarding the upcoming book “Woman Down,” as the author herself mentioned, it delves into the story of Petra Rose, a disheartened writer who seeks inspiration at a remote lakeside cabin. However, detective Nathaniel Saint intrudes with unsettling information, as suggested by the plot summary. As he becomes increasingly involved in her life, Petra is compelled to face her past and defend her own standing.

With her latest novel “Too Late” set for release in 2023, seven years after its initial publication on WattPad, author Hoover understands that her fans have been eagerly anticipating new work. In response, the writer of “It Ends With Us” extended a heartfelt message to her readers.

In fact, the release of “Woman Down” coincides with a particularly bustling period for Hoover, as several of her major successes are in the process of being brought to the silver screen.

Recently, a sneak peek at the upcoming movie “Regretting You” was revealed to audiences last month. This film features an impressive cast, including McKenna Grace, Mason Thames, Allison Williams, and Dave Franco, who will premiere it in cinemas come October.

On August 5th, a 150-second sneak peek was unveiled, offering a glimpse into the story of Clara (Grace) and her mother Morgan (Williams). In this preview, we see them dealing with the aftermath of a devastating car accident that took the lives of Morgan’s sister and husband – who were portrayed by Willa Fitzgerald and Scott Eastwood in the film, respectively – tragic losses to Clara as her aunt and father.

Previously, there had been significant news regarding the adaptation of “Reminders of Him,” set for release in February. Notably, actress Lauren Graham was announced to join the cast along with Maika Monroe, Tyriq Withers, and Rudy Pankow.
